10 years of support for tech entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs including Sir Stephen Tindall, founder of The Warehouse, have gathered to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Massey University’s technology innovation incubator, the ecentre.
Since establishment of the ecentre in 2001, over 200 companies have benefited from access to expert advice via Massey University’s Albany campus according to ecentre CEO, Steve Corbett.
Among the success stories are marketing specialists Perceptive, web development and hosting providers Zeald, and 2D & 3D design company Marops, which was placed 26th in the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2010.
As for future plans, Corbett says the organisation will look to expand its ecentreSprint programme, a 12-week programme that assists entrepreneurs to determine whether their business idea can work and demonstrates how to create a successful business.
