AirTrunk appoints Mark Barnaba as Independent Chair to drive hypergrowth.
Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) hyperscale data centre specialist, AirTrunk, today announced the appointment of Mr Mark Barnaba as Independent Chair of its Board. The appointment takes effect from 24 October 2023.
Mark Barnaba brings a treasury of international experience as an entrepreneur, corporate advisor, and independent director across various sectors including finance, technology, infrastructure, natural resources, sports administration, and education.
Robin Khuda, Founder and chief Executive Officer of AirTrunk, stated on the appointment: "Mark joins the AirTrunk Board at an exciting time as we embark on the next phase of hypergrowth, continuing the expansion of our leading data centre platform throughout the APJ region."
Khuda further highlighted Barnaba's extensive background in corporate governance and scaling fast-growing businesses. He believes Barnaba's entrepreneurial paired with a deep understanding of capital markets render him an invaluable asset to AirTrunk. Khuda recognises that Barnaba's addition to the team will help AirTrunk "enable APJ's digital future that is being accelerated by cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning."
The incoming Chair of AirTrunk, Mark Barnaba, expressed his enthusiasm about his joining: "I am thrilled to be joining the AirTrunk Board and playing a pivotal role for the largest and most successful hyperscale data centre provider in the region."
Barnaba further stated his eagerness to partner with Robin Khuda, the board, and the senior leadership team to "ensure AirTrunk continues to innovate and scale as it builds the critical digital infrastructure for some of the world's largest technology companies."
The new appointment sees Mr Barnaba replace the current Chair, Ani Satchcroft, Macquarie Asset Management's Head of Infrastructure for ANZ. Notwithstanding, Satchcroft is to remain an esteemed member of the board.
