Aussie SMBs set to take off with $5 international roaming
Vodafone Australia plans to surge ahead in the small-to-medium business arena by offering its business customers new plans that include international roaming for $5 a day across 46 countries worldwide including the US, UK, NZ, Europe and Asia.
“Vodafone’s business customers have told us very clearly what they need from us is the ability to travel to do business without having to worry about a rogue bill coming in from a short business trip overseas,” says Ben McIntosh, Vodafone Director of Sales.
“We recognise both the need to be able to travel for work and to keep in touch with the team back in Australia and we are market-leading in this area.”
Mobile data use up, cable broadband down
The number of business trips taken overseas has jumped by 59% over the past decade, with the telco also claiming the use of mobile wireless is on the rise, making it more actively used than cable or fixed wireless connections.
“SMEs are increasingly moving away from expensive cable and fixed wireless connections, which makes sense as typically, telecommunications among the highest operational costs for a SME, after premises and staffing,” McIntosh adds.
“We offer our customers a flexible, affordable solution that allows them to do what they do best and give them data access where they need it.
"We want to help Australian SMEs grow and the best way to do that is to give businesses the tools they need and let them get on with it.”
Vodafone Red Business Shared Plans were built with these factors in mind, with generous data allowances sharable across all users. The plans also offer extra data SIMs for tablets or mobile broadband, at just $10 per SIM per month.
Employees are free to bring their own devices on the new BYOD Plans for businesses who want to cover the cost of their employee’s monthly bill but offer their employee the freedom to use their preferred device.
Via Red Shared Business Plans, Vodafone allows its business customers the flexibility for their employees to come and go without penalty.
