Evernote has released the Scannable app which digitises all kinds of paper, from receipts to business cards to contracts.

Scannable automatically detects a document's edges, captures the image and sharpens it. Multi-page documents can be scanned, and the app has a scan speed of 25 pages a minute.

Once scanned, the image will be found in the scan tray. The digitised documents can then be shared via email or SMS, or alternatively saved to Evernote.

When saved to Evernote, documents are indexed, searchable and shareable - they can be accessed on any device that has Evernote installed.

While Scannable is a standalone app, it is integrated with LinkedIn, Evernote and the ScanSnap Evernote Edition Scanner, which increases its capabilities.

For instance, when a business card is scanned, all of the relevant information from LinkedIn profiles is saved so users have a complete view of who they've met.

Scannable is also a companion to ScanSnap Evernote Edition. When using a desktop computer the app allows users to control their desktop scanner and enables other users on the network to scan, which makes the ScanSnap Evernote Edition available for the whole office.

Currently Scannable is in development for iOS with other platforms to follow.
