FYI, this story is more than a year old

HubSpot has a new managing director for Asia Pacific – former Google Cloud account management leader Shahid Nizami.

In his new role at HubSpot, Nizami will be responsible for the company's performance in New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, and India. He will be based in Singapore and will work closely with both the Singapore and Sydney teams.

“Shahid's experience leading sales teams to drive new business, combined with his success in expanding an install base, is going to be key for HubSpot as we expand in APAC, says HubSpot's senior vice president and managing director of International, Jeetu Mahtani.

“Shahid brings a wealth of knowledge to HubSpot, which will have a huge impact on how we help our customers and partners to grow better in APAC and beyond. We're incredibly excited to welcome him to the team.

Nizami previously led Google Cloud Asia Pacific's account management business, where he managed a team that was spread across six different locations. He has also held several leadership positions at Oracle, and has a deep understanding of the Asia Pacific market.

“HubSpot is at a very exciting stage, especially here in APAC where growth is largely fuelled by SMBs,” comments Nizami.

“There is a huge opportunity for us to help SMBs adopt the right marketing, sales, and customer services strategies that will enable them to not only grow fast, but to grow better by adopting the inbound methodology and the HubSpot platform. I am looking forward to working with the team in APAC and making HubSpot one of the best and most desired places to work in the region.

HubSpot's Asia Pacific business has been on a growth trajectory over the last three years. The company says that Nizami's depth and breadth of experience, in addition to his cultivation of a ‘remarkable' workplace culture, will further help HubSpot to succeed in the region.

Earlier this month HubSpot announced a free launch of a new online tool called Conversations. The tool is available as part of HubSpot's free CRM and includes a collaborative inbox, targeting and lead routing, and even chatbots.

Key features of the tool include:

  • A collaborative inbox built for all sources and all teams, allowing users to manage email and chat conversations from one central place.
  • Chatbots to automate the delivery of information and facilitate more high-quality conversations, built on technology from HubSpot's recent acquisition of top chatbot platform Motion AI.
  • Targeting and lead routing working seamlessly with HubSpot CRM, allowing for sophisticated targeting and lead routing that connects the right people at the right time.
