Genesys appoints Albert Nel as APAC sales leader
Genesys has appointed Albert Nel as Senior Vice President and Regional Sales Leader for the Asia Pacific region.
In his new capacity, Nel will be responsible for fromulating and executing go-to-market strategies, nurturing customer relationships, and directing the company's sales team in the APAC region. Nel brings over two decades of experience in global technology industries, specifically in competitive and complex business environments.
This appointment marks another chapter in Nel's extensive career. Before joining Genesys, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan at Contentsquare, where he was pivotal in scaling operations and entering new markets. His career also includes senior positions at OpenText, Dell EMC, and Sybase.

This announcement coincides with a growth phase for Genesys in the APAC market, with the region surpassing 1,350 Genesys Cloud customers in the first half of its fiscal year 2025. The company has seen substantial growth in sectors such as media and entertainment, government, and financial services.
Further investment has been made by Genesys in the APAC region. Recently, the company became the first global CCaaS provider to introduce an Indian cloud node with a Unified License Virtual Network Operator license. The firm's cloud services are now available in five Amazon Web Services (AWS) regions within APAC, including Mumbai, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, and Sydney, as well as additional availability in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Jakarta.
Additionally, Genesys has expanded its infrastructure with the opening of a new office in the Philippines. This facility supports the company's growing workforce, which has been recognised as a great place to work in both the Philippines and India. The Genesys Philippines office has received accolades for workplace quality for four consecutive years, and the Indian operations are noted for being among the best workplaces for women for the last four years.
