MYOB champions Silver Ferns & women's achievement in netball

FYI, this story is more than a year old

MYOB is a major sponsor of New Zealand's Silver Ferns for the team's upcoming game against South Africa this weekend.

The Ferns' new uniform is a black dress with MYOB's logo prominently featured on the front and back.

Netball New Zealand chief executive Jennie Wyllie says that it's exciting to have MYOB as part of their team.

“MYOB has been supporting Kiwi businesses for over 25 years; they're passionate about seeing New Zealanders, particularly women, achieve their goals whatever they may be,” she says.

“Its New Zealand team is led by a strong group of women who have deep links to the community and that's something that really resonated with us as an organisation,” Wyllie continues.

The Ferns will represent New Zealand at the Netball Quad Series that kicks off this weekend. In addition to competing against South Africa, the team will also compete against the England Roses and Australian Diamonds.

The Ferns will also compete in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

MYOB New Zealand general manager Carolyn Luey says it's a fantastic opportunity to work with an ‘iconic' Kiwi team.

“We're really excited about coming on board. MYOB is focused on supporting success in New Zealand, whether that be on the Netball court or in business. It takes 24/7 dedication to be a Silver Fern, and we know business owners put in the same commitment to their operations,” she explains. “MYOB is dedicated to empowering female business leaders, many of who support the Silver Ferns. We're building the next generation of cloud-accounting, payroll, payments and business management tools that they can use to drive profitability and productivity,” Luey continues.

Last week MYOB held its Partner Connect event in Wellington, which presented the ‘Partner of the Year' award to two-time winner Debbie Vihi from Auckland-based Mobile Bookkeeping and Training.

Luey says MYOB is also looking at ways to help local netball by helping clubs run their activities.

Netball has more than 350,000 participants nationwide. 40% of Kiwis over 15 say they are fans of the Silver Ferns.

“One of the best things about our products is they give people back their time - time that can be spent supporting their kids playing Netball,” Luey comments. “We wish the Silver Ferns every success and look forward to working with them to support the development of the game all around New Zealand,” she concludes.

The Silver Ferns play South Africa on Saturday at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
