New Xero platform offers customised learning to small businesses

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Online accounting software company Xero has today launched a new customised version of Xero U, their educational hub offering a customised learning environment for accounting professionals and small businesses.

The educational hub offers “right-for-you” educational content on how to use Xero that is focused on the job or role that people do, whether they are an accountant, bookkeeper, advisors, small business owner or financial staff.

The launch is part of Xero’s strategy to lead with education and put customised content at the centre of the Xero experience.

“We’re investing heavily in education so that we can teach our customers how to be even more successful in their jobs utilising Xero as a tool,” says Amy Vetter, Xero’s Global VP of Education and Enablement.

Other companies offer a one-size fits all approach that often leads with the technology and not the specific needs of the business or individual. Xero is offering a fresh approach based on a person’s job or role so they can quickly get the information they need and get back to work.

The company says the new approach helps firms and their employees quickly get the training they need for their job and quickly get back to serving clients. Xero plans to expand this content beyond Xero to other topics and trends that causes accounting professionals and small businesses issues.

Vetter says “practice owners struggle to find the training path that is right for the different functions in their firm. Xero U will now allow them to find education tailored to each role which will take their knowledge to the next level in a way that is efficient and rewarding. We know that time is money which is valuable in any business.”

Xero says it listened closely to small business owners and accounting professionals to find out what they needed and created courses, content and the delivery methods to suit their needs. Customers can customise their experience with video, webinars and self-paced learning, as well as live events.

“And this is just the beginning. As a company we’re focused on offering small business owners and accounting professionals even more customised content to help them succeed - whether it be Xero product specifics or tips and trends on a variety of other topics that keep small businesses and accounting professionals up at night,” said Vetter.
