One NZ celebrates first year with launch of digital One Wallet
Today marks the first anniversary of One NZ and to celebrate, the company has launched One Wallet, an innovative digital wallet for its customers. Already upon launch, the wallets are equipped with a combined value of $37 million, as a part of One NZ's ongoing agenda to extend their quality service in mobile experiences.
The newly introduced One Wallet facilitates customers to partly pay for their next mobile phone using One Wallet Dollars on an interest-free term. One NZ is committed to simplifying what could potentially be a significant personal investment into an easily manageable financial exercise. One Wallet is viewed as a solution for customers to benefit from making transactions more cost-effective and affordable. The fund in the wallets could be cashed in against the purchase of subsequent devices.
One NZ's CEO Jason Paris said: "Your smartphone is like a remote control for your life, it's one of the most important purchases and frequently used items you'll own. But we recognise a new phone is a significant personal investment, often costing thousands of dollars, so we want to help make that easier and more affordable for our loyal customers via One Wallet."
Customers have various options to keep their One Wallet balance healthy. The balance could be topped up simply by trading-in their old phones, or adding a new One NZ mobile or broadband plan to their existing account, or by setting their payment method as direct debit.
Mr. Paris went on to announce that from today, every eligible consumer on a Pay Monthly Plan of $65/month and above will have a One Wallet facility ready for use with immediate effect, offering a pleasant surprise to customers on the launch day. To check the balance, customers can find the One Wallet tile in the My One NZ app. The company also revealed the plan to expand its offer soon.
The launch of the One Wallet occurs on the first anniversary of the One NZ brand, and according to Mr. Paris, there could hardly be a better time to go ahead with it. He emphasised: "We've had an incredible first year, going from global to local, and focusing on the needs of Kiwi across the country. Our customers tell us they want simple products and services, a great network, and seamless service. We're making rapid progress in all three of those areas, and One Wallet is a clear example of us helping our customers get better connected."
