Rippling's $11.25B bolster for Asia-Pacific with Sydney HQ opening
Rippling, a workforce management platform, has announced its launch in Australia along with a regional Sydney headquarters, marking the initiation of a multi-year investment strategy in the ever-growing Asia-Pacific region. The company, valued at USD$11.25B, aims to disrupt the market by dedicating to the creation of modernised systems in payroll, HR, IT, and finance sectors.
Rippling is making a notable expansion by accelerating hiring and creating jobs, despite the current trend of tech layoffs. In efforts to assist businesses with the modernisation of legacy systems, Rippling has strategically started establishing teams and regional offices. "It's extremely challenging for businesses to keep employee data consistent when it's scattered across disparate, siloed systems. Rippling addresses this issue by providing businesses and their employees with a unified system of record," stated Matt Loop, the former VP of Asia at Slack, who will now be leading Rippling's operations across the region as VP and Head of Asia.
Australia Post recently had to rectify payments worth $5.6 million due to payroll errors, underscoring the stark repercussions of accidental wage theft. Echoing Salesforce's effective solution of consolidating data, Rippling follows suit by creating a single, reliable digital source of truth for employee data, which they hope will counter Australia's payroll difficulties.
New research conducted by Rippling in cooperation with Censuswide underscores the complexities that siloed systems add to payroll, an issue especially prevalent among Australian businesses. The study reveals that 63% of companies employ three or more solutions for their HR and payroll management, and over a third (37%) use five or more. This burdensome manual approach to inputting employee data is still used by 48% of businesses, thus amplifying the risk of human error.
Because of these inefficient processes, many companies are on the lookout for a better solution - about half (45%) are actively looking to switch their existing HR and payroll systems in the next year, with only a third (33%) securely committed to their current providers. Rippling has already garnered a client base including SiteMate, Liven, Omniscient Neurotechnology (O8t), Notion, and Anthropic; these businesses are keen to migrate to a consolidated, streamlined solution.
Adding his voice in support of Rippling, Harley Pike, Co-Founder and CEO of SiteMate, said: "As a multinational company with offices in the Americas, Asia and Europe, our complex needs are being met by Rippling. It has simplified processes for onboarding, promotions, and payroll, saving us 100+ hours a year, and has allowed us to scale with confidence."
Celebrating the company's expansion, The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and InvestmentIndustry, welcomes Rippling's new APAC headquarters as yet another example of the NSW Government's ongoing efforts to attract world-class companies, thereby creating jobs and underpinning a buoyant economy.
