SUPERTECH 2016: An event to help enable business success in a digital future
Businesses across the world are transforming into digital versions of themselves to ensure survival in a future where businesses without a digital strategy are likely to disappear and fade away within the next few years.
But why is this happening? At the very heart of the changing business landscape is the shift of the consumer to the digital world, and the new standards and expectations that have been set by a more informed and demanding consumer. Innovative companies have long identified the opportunities arising out of this shift and started to deliver new customer experiences that have disrupted well entrenched industries across the world.
While globally more and more businesses are transforming digitally to meet the challenges of technological disruption and innovation, New Zealand businesses have been slow in adapting to the change. While more than 80% of New Zealand consumers are now online, less than 50% of businesses have made that all important transition. This is due to a combination of factors, from the refusal of business leadership to acknowledge lost opportunities (or explore new ones) to the lack of clear information and knowledge around what it means or takes to become a digital business.
Very often digital transformation is confused with technology transformation when in essence it is business strategy transformation enabled by digital technology. There are many steps towards delivering true digital transformation of businesses – starting with creating a digital-first mindset, to setting strategies to enhance the digital customer experience, from focusing on digitising analogue process to using better analytics to deliver superior products and services.
SuperTech 2016 (organised by the Employers and Manufacturers Association) on the 17th of March at the Spark City Conference Centre focuses on the key factors that are shaping the transformation of businesses to digital. Listen to industry leaders and digital experts share their expertise and insights in areas such as disruption, the digital customer, data, search and trends and predictions for the future.
