TeamViewer & Deloitte partner to advance vision picking in warehouses
TeamViewer and Deloitte have solidified a partnership to utilise and promote vision picking in complex warehouse operations. The collaboration will aim to alleviate the current pressures exerted on global supply chains, focusing on reducing the high rates of employee turnover common in warehouse environments.
Vision picking leverages smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) to provide workers with picking tasks. This innovative technology is expected to enhance speed and accuracy and improve ergonomic practices within the supply chain sector. A joint venture of this nature pairs TeamViewer's solutions in vision picking with Deloitte's profound knowledge and experience in logistics, along with their implementation of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
One of Deloitte's leading voices in logistics shared a positive forecast for vision-picking technology. Stijn Van Hoof, SAP EWM & TM CoE Lead at Deloitte, stated, "We are convinced that vision picking will become the new global standard for warehouse picking operations and will provide crucial improvements in many other warehouse processes."
The newly formed collaborative approach between Deloitte and TeamViewer aims to digitalise the manual methodologies often seen in supply chains and logistics. Their shared objective of establishing vision picking as the leader in the intricate warehouse picking operations aligns with their goal of alleviating certain industry challenges. The initial stage of the partnership will involve the integration of TeamViewer's vision-picking solution with the SAP EWM led by Deloitte's knowledgeable logistics consultants.
This strategic partnership will benefit frontline workers and warehouse operators, as well as the warehouse managers overseeing operations. The solution will deliver fast, hands-free picking, minimising errors, improving ergonomics, and accelerating new employee onboarding. In addition, warehouse managers can anticipate real-time monitoring and control over operations with customisable workflows. This is all facilitated by Deloitte's rich consultancy knowledge, allowing companies to introduce solutions easily.
Stijn Van Hoof further commented on the collaboration: "With this partnership, we support customers in digitally transforming their logistics processes and tackling their most pressing business challenges in this area. Companies running SAP EWM can seamlessly benefit from Deloitte's comprehensive consultancy services and TeamViewer's leading AR platform to improve their warehouse logistics processes and overall picking efficiency."
Jan Junker, EVP of Sales EMEA at TeamViewer, underlined the common goal shared with Deloitte, emphasising the importance of supporting companies in their digital transformation endeavours by deploying cutting-edge technology. Reflecting his optimism about this specialised solution, Junker pointed at how it improves manual warehousing processes, saying: "Our vision picking solution significantly improves manual warehousing processes, resulting in faster operations, better accuracy, and overall higher productivity. Moreover, it reduces the training and onboarding time of workers in a high employee churn environment. I look forward to expanding use cases and jointly exploring new opportunities for our solution together with Deloitte."
