The Martech Weekly launches TMW 100 Innovation Awards 2024

Thu, 8th Aug 2024

The Martech Weekly has unveiled the second iteration of the TMW 100 Innovation Awards, the only independent awards event globally that recognises innovation in the marketing technology industry. The awards are known for their rigorous independence, as all entrants are judged by both industry experts and the public.

"These aren't awards that can be gamed, especially by larger companies with lavish budgets and industry clout," stated TMW CEO and Founder, Juan Mendoza. "If you win a TMW 100 Award, it's because you've done something impressive and richly deserve recognition."

The scheme is open to any company that has developed or sold technology for use in the marketing technology industry over the last 12 months. Applicants must have released or adapted a novel product or technology to be considered. A panel of industry-leading judges, including Scott Brinker of Chiefmartec, will assess each entry based on criteria such as novelty, impact, excellence, and ethics.

Applications are currently open and will close on 30 August 2024. Following the public and judges' evaluations, the top three winners, a people's choice award, various category winners, and a top 100 ranked list will be announced on 30 October at the Martech World Forum in London.

Mendoza highlighted the importance of such awards in serving Martech purchasers, who often invest heavily in solutions that end up being under-utilised due to a lack of reliable data. "The main reason that happens is because there is not nearly enough reliable data out there. These awards are designed to be a useful data point," he explained.

Billy Loizou, Area Vice President APAC at Amperity, expressed support for the awards. He noted that experts and Martech-buying executives will now have a reliable list of the most highly-rated solutions released over the past year. Loizou urged judges to appreciate that Martech leadership involves providing solutions that address key use cases like increasing customer retention, boosting conversion rates, and improving campaign ROI to drive meaningful, measurable outcomes.

Sarah Jarvis, Communication and Propositions Director at Eagle Eye, also spoke highly of the awards. "The TMW 100 Awards are a fantastic place to showcase what we have delivered in collaboration with our customers. Merit-based awards are super important and especially great when your company ranks highly," she said, adding that Eagle Eye benefitted from greater brand exposure and team pride after their high ranking in the previous year.

The TMW 100 Awards attract global entries, distinguishing them from many other awards that focus nationally or regionally. Vishnu Vankayala, CEO of CustomerLabs, which secured first place last year, praised the event for its fairness and transparency. "It helped us to get a lot of recognition and it acts as a strong validator for our current and future customers," he said. "Looking forward to winning the TMW 100 again!"

Remi Morault, CEO of Desygner, which was the runner-up in 2023, also commended the international exposure provided by the awards. "The honour has undoubtedly helped in strengthening our brand reputation and opening new doors for collaborations and opportunities," Morault commented.

Fiona Ngaruro, a respected e-commerce and growth-marketing consultant from Nairobi and a judge for the TMW 100 Awards, emphasised the level playing field created by these awards. "There are so many great Martech solutions out there that people don't know about," she said. "The superpower of the TMW 100 Awards is to create a level playing field for innovators across the world."
