Top Move rebrands as Wise Move to boost global expansion
Top Move, a marketplace for booking moving services in Canada, has rebranded as Wise Move as part of an effort to unify its brand and expand its reach internationally.
This official rebranding marks Wise Move's strategy to serve a broader, global market while maintaining established operations within Canada. Wise Move reports more than 52,000 verified customer reviews worldwide, including upwards of 480 reviews from Canadian users since its launch in 2017.
Ed Burton, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Wise Move, explained the rationale behind the rebrand and the company's broader objectives.
"We're excited to rebrand as Wise Move to better reflect who we are and where we're headed. Moving is one of life's most stressful events, and our mission is to make the experience more transparent for customers and help them book local movers they can trust."
The rebrand aims to reinforce Wise Move's goal of becoming a preferred platform in Canada for reliable, technology-driven moving services. The company seeks to simplify booking movers through its digital platform, emphasising transparency and customer empowerment.
Digital-first approach
Wise Move centres its service on a digital-first model that addresses challenges often found in the moving industry, such as inconsistent pricing and transparency. Customers can request delivery services and receive real-time quotes from vetted local movers. The platform also allows users to access mover profiles, review customer feedback, and consider options for environmentally friendly logistics.
The system is intended to simplify comparisons between local service providers so users can choose those that best fit their requirements.
Supporting local movers
Beyond customer convenience, Wise Move's platform is designed to help local moving businesses develop by granting access to steady job opportunities, operational tools, and customer trust-building resources. The platform is particularly focused on supporting the growth of small and family-run operators, enabling them to scale their businesses through increased exposure and workload.
Brian Dyongo, a small business owner using Wise Move, shared his account of business growth facilitated by the platform.
"When I first entered the moving industry, I started with just a small truck and a DIY approach. After realising the potential in the space, I left my corporate job to pursue moving full-time. Since joining the Wise Move platform, I've grown my own business by 80%, expanded my customer base, and supported my child through both high school and university."
The company reports that similar stories are common among its network of service providers, who can increase capacity and expand their teams thanks to consistent demand through the platform.
International origins and expansion
Wise Move's origins trace back to New Zealand, where co-founder Gedi Burinskis established the initial digital-first experience for booking moving services. The Canadian division, led by Ed Burton, has since embraced the company's commitment to local market integration and reliable service. The rebranding to Wise Move is positioned as a step in consolidating the company's global identity and offerings.
Through these changes, Wise Move aims to make a mark in the global marketplace for moving services, extending its experience and platform capabilities internationally while maintaining its focus on user experience and trust.
