Digital signage has been deployed in the United Kingdom and Portugal to drum up publicity for iconic science fiction drama The X-Files, as it returns from an extended hiatus.

Channel 5 launched a dynamic digital countdown, running across JCDecaux's digital out of home network.

The countdown featured across Transvision screens as well as Rail and Mall D6s.

The campaign, which went live last Friday, features the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the launch of the new season of the show, scheduled for Monday, 08 February.

The campaign was planned and booked through JCDecaux by Vizeum and Posterscope.

JCDecaux also helped promote the show in Portugal, with a giant UFO arriving at Lisbon Oriente Station.

Passengers were invited to snap a selfie with the UFO through a JCDecaux panel, with the best photos uploaded on Fox Portugal's Facebook page.
