Weirdly is helping recruiters find their own brand of weird
Weirdly is a Kiwi recruitment app that aims to help employers find the person who is the right fit and make the employment process easier.
Weirdly works on the premise that identifying candidates with the right skills is easy, but finding people who fit with your business vision and team is harder.
"Whether you're talking about a candidate or a business, the thing that makes them great is also often the thing that makes them a bit weird," says Weirdly.
The app uses a customised quiz to rank candidates against an employer's ideal 'match' while also managing CVs, video applications and applicant photos.
Algorithms in the app analyse language, values and behaviours and breaks the questions down into five categories. All of this is managed on a dashboard.
The co-founders, Dale Clareburt, Simon Martin, Hayden Raw and Keren Phillips, have combined their 20 years of experience in recruiting to create the system.
The process begins with a recruiter choosing from questions or writing their own, and essentially defining their cultural profile. Depending on these answers, a candidate could be moved to the bottom of the list.
Next, the job vacancy is published and candidates complete the quiz and are ranked. On the Weirdly dashboard, recruiters can create a longlist and shortlist, send candidates messages, attach more files and keep tabs on the process until the right person is chosen.
Recruiters can customise their own templates to create engaging experiences.
Businesses such as Jucy Rentals, Glengarry, Vend and Superette are using Weirdly.
"At Jucy, culture is No 1. Its about getting the right people into our business at the outset, who live and breathe our values, and who are committed to the journey, We were looking for a way to assess our applicants by culture fit and Weirdly has delivered," says Kat Van Dijk, Jucy Rentals, GM sales and marketing.
Weirdly aims to make the process easier for recruiters but also job-hunters, as the latter is able to see whether they will fit with a job as they apply.
