Wiise & Employment Hero partner to simplify payroll for NZ SMBs
Tue, 5th Dec 2023

The fast-growing cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, Wiise, has announced a strategic partnership with New Zealand's leading cloud-based HR platform, Employment Hero. This collaboration will facilitate the integration of Employment Hero's payroll solutions into Wiise, automating and simplifying HR operations for small-and-medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in New Zealand. The partnership aims to ensure SMBs stay compliant with the ever-changing employment laws and regulations.

The integrated system will significantly save time for finance and HR teams by eliminating manual data entry, automating crucial calculations like tax rates, leave entitlement, holiday and termination pay. The ability to submit PAYE data directly to New Zealand's Inland Revenue Department guarantees that employees will always be paid correctly and promptly, enhancing job satisfaction and reducing the risk of HR-related disputes.

Employment Hero entered the New Zealand market in 2019 and currently has about 750 businesses on its payroll platform, paying over 21,000 employees each month. Wiise, which recently expanded into New Zealand, has developed a dedicated solution for local businesses including automated bank feeds and a wide range of local pre-configurations.

Charlie Wood, CEO of Wiise, comments on the partnership: "Wiise is known for delivering a modern, localised cloud ERP for growing businesses and this collaboration enriches our offering in New Zealand. By incorporating Employment Hero's robust payroll solution, Wiise provides a competitive technology stack that greatly improves efficiency and helps small and medium-sized businesses compete with larger players in local and global markets."

There's an urgent need for businesses to understand upcoming changes to employment laws and regulations as non-compliance can be costly and damage brand reputation, according to Chase Gardner, Head of Partnerships, ANZ, Employment Hero. "We want to ensure that New Zealand businesses thrive, regardless of ever-changing employment laws and regulations. Partnering with reputable ERPs like Wiise aligns with our aim of simplifying payroll and employment, giving employers confidence in accurate and timely employee compensation."

The partnership between Wiise and Employment Hero will allow New Zealand businesses to integrate with fundamental tools, like Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Teams, eCommerce, and POS, and create a connected digital ecosystem. Consolidating accounting and financial data within a single platform can reproduce vast time savings and improve financial reporting and forecasting, freeing HR and finance teams to focus on other critical tasks.

Among Wiise's customers who have found this approach valuable, FVS Services Group, a fire safety solutions company, saved a quarter of their finance team's time, and SGESCO-MAX, a vehicle safety and monitoring solutions provider, was able to complete payroll in just two hours. "Automating its processes with Wiise has saved our staff up to 2,500 hours a year. We could not have achieved everything that we have, in such a short period of time without Wiise. The investment has been absolutely critical to the survival and scalability of our business," notes Scott Macpherson, Managing Director, SGECSCO-MAX.
