Yesterday

Amber Technology has launched two new Philips NeoPix projectors, the NeoPix 150 and NeoPix 450 Smart, in Australia and New Zealand.

The new projectors are designed to offer flexible solutions for home entertainment, with an emphasis on portability, user-friendly features, and accessible pricing. Both models deliver full HD projection and offer several options for integration into a variety of home and lifestyle scenarios.

NeoPix 150 details

The NeoPix 150 is a compact model, weighing just 1kg, and features a 180-degree rotating stand. This allows users to turn any flat surface, including walls and ceilings, into an 80-inch full high definition (HD) display. The projector delivers a full HD 1080p resolution with a brightness rating of 250 ANSI lumens, a measure set by the American National Standards Institute, making the unit suitable for evening entertainment in varied environments.

The NeoPix 150 incorporates an LED light source rated for 30,000 hours of operation and features silent fan technology for quiet viewing. It also includes a USB-C to HDMI cable, allowing users to connect compatible smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Standard HDMI ports enable additional options, such as connecting an Amazon Firestick or streaming device, with power supplied via the projector's USB output.

NeoPix 450 Smart features

The NeoPix 450 Smart expands on the NeoPix series by integrating Google TV, allowing access to streaming services, applications, and personalised recommendations through one interface. It projects at up to 500 ANSI lumens and can create full HD images up to 100 inches in size, aiming to transform any room into a connected entertainment space.

The model is equipped with an ergonomic swivelling stand, automatic focus, and automatic keystone correction for image alignment. Four-corner correction and digital zoom settings add further flexibility. Audio is delivered via integrated dual five-watt speakers intended to provide sufficient room coverage for typical home use. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, screen mirroring, and Bluetooth 5.0 support for devices such as gaming controllers, speakers, and keyboards.

"With the NeoPix 150 and NeoPix 450 Smart, we're opening up new ways for people to enjoy the big-screen experience, wherever life takes them," said Serge Kossi, VP, Global Sales at Philips Projection. "This isn't just about launching products; it's about giving people the freedom to make entertainment their own, in a way that's flexible, personal, and effortless."

Connectivity and pricing

Both the NeoPix 150 and 450 Smart projectors feature true full HD 1080p resolution, a long-lasting LED light source, silent operation, multiple connectivity options including HDMI and USB, and an ergonomic stand to enhance portability and placement.

The recommended retail price for the NeoPix 150 is AUD $449 and for the NeoPix 450 Smart, AUD $999. The models are available across Australia and New Zealand through major electronics retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and The Good Guys, as well as through a range of specialist retailers.
