Digital signage gets responsive as technologies merge
Signagelive is harnessing the power of mobile and internet technologies to provide smart interactive digital signage incorporating contextual and responsive applications, including live TV triggers, emergency messaging or assistive point of sales services.
The cloud-based digital signage platform vendor has integrated its System on Chip (SoC) and HTML5 software with a range of third-party web triggering solutions to enrich its digital signage offering.
The company says the offerings require nothing more than an internet connection and transform static smart signage networks into powerful interactive marketing tools which can be used in a range of situations, including quick serve restaurants, retail and corporate communications.
The company cites the example of a quick serve restaurant, which can enhance the overall dining experience and encourage brand loyalty by enabling diners to interact with digital menu boards and place orders via their smartphone.
Jason Cremins, Signagelive chief executive, says digital signage, wireless and IoT technologies are merging, resulting in the development of innovative smartphone apps.
"As digital signage networks become more sophisticated, system users want the ability to manage all services from a single point and our cloud based platform facilitates this via a secure cloud-based interface," Cremins says.
Signagelive says its HTML5 software is fully compatible with all major smart signage offerings, including the Samsung Smart Signage Platform, LG webOS and Google Chrome, and has been deployed across all verticals, including retail, quick service restaurants and hospitality.
Its SoC software is written in HTML5 for cross platform functionality and provides support for content formats including static images, HD video, web pages, IPTV, multizoning for different media types, image layering, RSS feeds, portrait support and screen on and off control.
Optional proof of content and delivery functionality for better network and campaign management is also available.
