FYI, this story is more than a year old

Two small southern businesses have been announced as finalists for the Global Security Challenge APAC final, to be held in Sydney on August 25.

Dunedin-based computer graphics startup Aerograph Limited and Mosgiel-based GPS business TracMap will go up against entrants from Australia, India and Japan in an effort to reach the final of the competition, where US$500,000 in prizes are up for grabs.

TracMap is up against Western Australian firm Embedded Technologies in the SMB category, while Aerograph will compete with three businesses from India and one from Japan.

Each company must present security-focused business pitches to a panel of five judges, who will declare two winners to attend the global final, taking place in London in October.
