Reuben Bijl, a former senior executive at Apple, has joined Abundium as a Partner.

Abundium has announced the addition of Reuben Bijl to its team as a Partner. The company is a networking and representative group for leaders of multinational corporations in Australia.

Rich Hirst, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Abundium, commented on the appointment, "Former Netflix Chief Talent Officer Patty McCord's top tip when she spoke with Abundium as part of our Masterclass series, was 'to not settle for someone that is just a culture fit, hire for culture add'. Reuben's experience, passion, intellect and drive will be a fantastic 'add' to the culture of our community."

Bijl's prior experience with technology spans over a decade at Apple, where he held senior roles across the ANZ and South Asia regions. His position as Head of 'Apple Initiatives' lasted nine years.

"Reuben will also accelerate our ability to add value to members and their teams across Australia, New Zealand and Asia via his deep knowledge of technology, brand, and consumer behaviour as well as his extensive network and reputation across APAC," continued Hirst.

In reflecting on his decision to join Abundium, Bijl expressed admiration for the company's co-founders, stating, "What drew me to Abundium was the energy, vitality and growth mindset of the co-founders Rich and Dani, who have built an incredible community of world class multinational business leaders at Abundium."

Bijl emphasised the contributions of the foreign owned business community in Australia, particularly in job creation and global connectivity. "That's something I am extremely excited about supporting at Abundium," he remarked.

He acknowledged the unique challenges faced by leaders of multinational corporations, particularly in aligning global aspirations with local operations in Australia. "In today's challenging global business environment business leaders need the ability to adapt and change rapidly, with access to a curated knowledge bank and a relevant support community, being created by Abundium, a powerful resource for these leaders," said Bijl.

Dani Matthews, Co-Founder of Abundium, also shared her enthusiasm for Bijl's appointment. "We're thrilled to welcome Reuben Bijl as a Partner at Abundium—a values-aligned leader whose journey from captaining the Dutch national rugby team to driving impact at Apple across Southeast Asia brings a wealth of experience to our community."

Matthews further noted, "Reuben's leadership strengthens our commitment to representing the foreign-owned multinational community of global citizens. Rich and I couldn't be more excited to bring our core values of #GetReal, #GiveForward, and #GoLarge to life with Reuben by our side."
