Justin Mowday named Accenture's New Zealand Managing Director
Accenture has appointed Justin Mowday as the new Country Managing Director for New Zealand, with effect from March 1, 2024. With this heightened responsibility, Mowday will also join Accenture's Australia and New Zealand Executive Committee.
Over his three-decade career, Mowday has made notable contributions across various industries, including financial services, retail, consumer goods, automotive, and media. Before stepping into his role at Accenture, Mowday was the Group CEO of DDB in New Zealand before joining Accenture Song, its tech-based creative division, in 2021. His stewardship led to a substantial expansion of Accenture Song's NZ business, setting up the award-winning Monkeys Aotearoa brand and strategising Accenture's mission in New Zealand.
On the occasion, Peter Burns, Market Unit Leader, Accenture Australia and New Zealand, expressed great confidence in Mowday's appointment. "This appointment affirms our commitment to embracing the substantial opportunities we see in New Zealand. Our promise is to bring the best of our global expertise to our clients, coupled with the strength of a local team who have a deep understanding of the market, its culture and its people".
Mowday's 30-year experience, according to Burns, provides him with a breadth of insight into both the private and public sectors of New Zealand. "Justin is a leader who embodies this promise. He is already a trusted advisor to many business and government leaders. His background has instilled in him a relentless focus on the customer, and he is committed to driving value for our clients by bringing together data, technology, industry expertise, and creativity," he commented.
Burns also acknowledged Mowday's passion for his country, stating, "Justin is a proud Kiwi. He is dedicated to playing a role in helping New Zealand reach its full potential. We look forward to him building on the strong foundation already established by our leadership team in New Zealand as he steps into this new role".
The newly appointed Country Managing Director shared his enthusiasm about his upcoming role at Accenture. "What an amazing time to be helping organisations in New Zealand get future-fit. Bringing everything that Accenture's global capabilities have to offer - technology, talent, scale and experience - and shaping and adding to that with our local firepower in New Zealand is a tremendous opportunity," Mowday said.
Mowday emphasised the high calibre of Accenture's offering and expressed his eagerness to build on this as he enters his new role. "The depth of talent, the breadth of expertise, the strategic thinking and innovative solutions we bring to the table are truly world-class. I'm excited to begin this new chapter with Accenture and look forward to helping the team deliver on our ambition to help shape the future of Aotearoa," he concluded.
