New directors join Icehouse board
Auckland start-up incubator The Icehouse has appointed five new board members as part of its drive to help New Zealand reach 3000 globally competitive businesses by 2020.
Among the new board members are LanzaTech co-founder and chief science officer Dr Sean Simpson and Pumpkin Patch founder Sally Synnott (both pictured).
Icehouse chairperson Greg Cross says the new appointments will help The Icehouse grow its capability and contribution to New Zealand’s economy.
"Collectively our new members have a deep understanding of enabling business growth on a global stage,” Cross says.
"They have all built and run their own successful businesses and have excellent networks that will help open doors locally and offshore.”
Profile Foods founder Bernie Crosby, Massive Inc co-founder Claudia Batten and previously Japan-based internet marketing pioneer Tim Williams are also now members of the board, joining Gen-i boss and acting Telecom CEO Chris Quin, University of Auckland Business School dean Greg Whittred, Bank of New Zealand business unit director Anthony Healy, and UniServices CEO Peter Lee.
