ProSpend & Archa launch credit-backed virtual cards
Wed, 29th Jul 2026 (Today)
ProSpend has partnered with Archa to add credit-backed virtual corporate cards to its spend management platform for mid-market businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership gives ProSpend customers access to Archa-issued virtual cards with multi-entity and multi-balance support, rewards options, and lower foreign exchange fees for overseas spending. The aim is to help finance teams avoid running a separate card product alongside existing expense and reconciliation processes.
As businesses expand across entities and markets, card programmes that once met their needs can become harder to manage. Finance teams often end up using separate tools for cards, expenses, and approvals, adding manual work and complicating reporting.
Under the arrangement, Archa issues the cards while ProSpend connects each transaction to receipts, coding, approvals, and reconciliation workflows already used by its customers. The platform also brings card activity together with expenses, invoices, purchase orders, budgets, and travel in a single system.
This structure allows finance teams to keep ownership details and supporting evidence attached to transactions from the start, rather than reconstructing records at month end. Customers can also export structured data into finance systems, with support for Australian GST and FBT requirements.
The companies said integrations are available with more than 30 enterprise resource planning systems, including platforms used by mid-sized organisations to manage accounting and financial reporting.
Growth pressure
The announcement highlights a broader issue for finance teams in growing mid-market companies. As transaction volumes rise and operations spread across new legal entities, teams are often expected to manage more complexity without a matching increase in staff.
The challenge grows when overseas spending, different funding models, and a larger base of cardholders are added. In those cases, changing card providers has often meant adding a second administrative process rather than replacing the first.
Sharon Nouh, Chief Executive Officer of ProSpend, said the platform was designed to keep financial controls in place as customer requirements changed.
"We built ProSpend to give finance teams greater control over business spend, without forcing them to work around systems that no longer fit," Nouh said. "As organisations grow, their requirements change across entities, funding models, cardholders, and overseas spend. Archa brings a modern card offering, and ProSpend keeps the controls, visibility, and finance workflow around every transaction connected. We love working with ambitious Australian businesses that are building strong products around genuine customer needs. Together we are giving customers more choice, including credit-backed virtual cards, rewards, and greater flexibility across complex business structures."
Oliver Kidd, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Archa, said the partnership would expand options for customers managing company spending.
"We're excited to partner with ProSpend to give businesses more choice and flexibility in how they manage their spend," Kidd said. "By bringing Archa's corporate cards together with ProSpend's unified spend management platform, customers can access a seamless, integrated solution that makes managing business spend simpler."
Retail example
One early user of the combined offering is Australian fashion retailer Billini, which was already using ProSpend for finance workflows before moving its card programme to Archa.
According to the companies, Billini used the switch to adjust card limits, rewards, foreign exchange costs, and working capital settings while continuing to process and report spending through ProSpend. Transaction data from the setup flows into Apparel21, the retailer's enterprise system.
Geoff Greenberg, Chief Financial Officer of Billini, described the result in operational terms.
"Month-end card processing through to ERP is seamless and much more proficient than with legacy systems," Greenberg said.
ProSpend focuses on organisations with between 50 and 1,000 employees, a segment where finance teams often need tighter spending controls without the resources of larger corporates. Archa, based primarily in Melbourne, provides corporate cards and related spending tools to businesses across Australia and also offers embedded products through third-party partners.
The partnership allows eligible ProSpend customers to switch to a credit-backed card programme while keeping card transactions tied to the same approval, coding, and audit-trail processes used across the rest of their spending data.
