TravelOne launches behavioural intelligence tool for travel
Tue, 5th May 2026 (Today)
TravelOne Technologies has launched Traveller DNA, a behavioural intelligence system for travel platforms built around a 30-marker persona model.
Aimed at business customers such as online travel agencies, booking engines and enterprise travel systems, the product adds a behavioural data layer to existing travel platforms rather than replacing booking and customer data systems.
The launch comes as travel companies increase spending on artificial intelligence, even as many projects struggle to move beyond trials. TravelOne says its approach is designed to address the gap between demand for personalised travel experiences and the limits of systems built mainly on historical transaction records.
Industry figures cited by TravelOne show the global travel AI market is expected to grow from about USD $166 billion in 2025 to nearly USD $3 trillion by 2033. The same data suggests only about 30 per cent of AI projects progress beyond pilot stages, while nearly 42 per cent of companies have scaled back or abandoned AI initiatives because of data limitations.
At the consumer level, survey data cited by the company shows close to 90 per cent of travellers view personalisation as an important part of their overall experience. That demand has pushed airlines, hotel groups, online booking services and travel software suppliers to seek better ways to understand traveller intent in real time.
Behavioural layer
Traveller DNA captures behavioural signals and shifting traveller intent as users interact with travel platforms. The system evaluates 30 markers, including decision-making patterns, flexibility, experience preferences, emotional drivers and travel motivations.
This differs from many travel recommendation tools, which often rely on past searches, booking history and demographic information. TravelOne argues that those sources provide only a partial picture of what a traveller wants at the time of booking or planning.
According to the company, the infrastructure creates a dynamic traveller identity that updates continuously as behaviour changes. The goal is to help platforms deliver more relevant recommendations and improve engagement and conversion without requiring a full rebuild of existing systems.
Travel technology companies face growing pressure to show returns on AI spending. Investors and operators are paying closer attention to tools that can improve search, merchandising, pricing and customer service, but implementation is often held back by poor data quality and fragmented systems.
TravelOne links the launch to broader funding trends in the sector, noting that AI-related investments have risen from 10 per cent to 45 per cent of total travel technology funding in recent years. That shift underscores how central data and automation have become to strategy across the industry.
Founder view
The company is led by founder and CEO Bhavin Vora, who says many travel AI tools have been built on incomplete data foundations.
"Travel AI today is largely built on historical transactions, which only tell part of the story," Vora said.
"With Traveller DNA, we are introducing a behavioral layer that helps platforms understand who the traveler is in the present moment. This enables more accurate, context-aware recommendations and lays the groundwork for the next generation of intelligent, agent-driven travel experiences."
TravelOne is positioning the product as core infrastructure for business customers looking to improve personalisation without changing their entire technology stack. It says the system enriches existing data environments with real-time behavioural signals, which can make AI deployment more effective.
The broader issue for travel companies is not simply access to more data, but access to better data that reflects changing customer intent. That challenge has become more urgent as large travel groups continue to spend heavily on data acquisition and marketing while trying to improve conversion and customer retention.
Headquartered in Toronto, TravelOne focuses on AI-driven infrastructure for the global travel industry. Its latest product is built on the view that behavioural intelligence, rather than transaction history alone, will determine how effectively travel platforms tailor offers and recommendations to users.
