Ultra Commerce acquires Comestri to expand eCommerce solutions
Global ecommerce company Ultra Commerce has acquired Comestri, a move that seeks to consolidate Comestri's award-winning eCommerce SaaS platform with Ultra Commerce's comprehensive suite of eCommerce and marketplace solutions.
The financial specifics of the acquisition remain undisclosed. As the merger progresses, Comestri will gradually be integrated into the Ultra Commerce brand. This strategic move aims to streamline the combined resources and enhance service delivery to clients.
Notably, Comestri's CEO, Anita Dorwald, will step down from her current role and transition into a significant leadership position as Chief Transformation Officer. Dorwald will focus on the smooth integration of both companies, ensuring that operational synergies are achieved effectively.
Ultra Commerce's current CEO, Matthew Hyland, will remain at the helm, bringing more than seven years of leadership experience to the joint venture. Phil Morgan, meanwhile, will take on the role of Group Chief Technology Officer for the merged business.
Expressing optimism about the merger, Hyland stated, "The strategic alignment between Ultra Commerce and Comestri presents a remarkable opportunity for global growth and expansion. Together, our combined eCommerce solutions offer an unmatched one-stop solution for businesses to thrive in the digital age."
Dorwald echoed this sentiment by highlighting the benefits to stakeholders: "There is enormous value for all stakeholders in this acquisition. The biggest immediate winners will be our existing customers, who can now take advantage of an extended product offering and the innovation that will result from leveraging a combined roadmap."
The 48 blue-chip clients currently served by Comestri are assured continued exceptional service and support under the Ultra Commerce banner. These clients stand to gain from an expanded array of products and services aimed at boosting their eCommerce capabilities.
Theintegration of Comestri's product offerings into the Ultra Commerce suite enables clients to select platform components tailored to their individual needs. Alternatively, they can choose to deploy a complete eCommerce solution using the newly consolidated Ultra Commerce platform, which now boasts capabilities in headless storefronts, marketplaces, distributed order management systems, product inventory and channel management, payments, shipping, and marketing.
This acquisition underscores Ultra Commerce's ongoing strategy of growth through acquisition. The company previously acquired Pinnacle Cart and Omnyfy Marketplace in 2023, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing its market position and capabilities.
The expanded Ultra Commerce platform now provides a comprehensive range of solutions for eCommerce businesses, ensuring they have the tools necessary to succeed in an increasingly digital economy.
