WeChat, a leading mobile social communication application for smartphones, has topped the GlobalWebIndex (GWI) Social Q4 2013 report in terms of growth with a record of 379% increase of users during the period of Q2 to Q4 2013.
GlobalWebIndex, a market research company specialising in online consumer behaviours, runs the world's largest study on the connected consumer, interviewing 170,000 unique individuals annually, covering 32 markets, representing 89% of the global internet audience.
GWI Social Q4, 2013 looked into social media adoption and usage across more than 30 global markets, surveying mobile internet users aged 16-64 on their active usage of social platforms between Q2 and Q4 20132.
The results demonstrated the leading position of WeChat in terms of growth with the estimated audience number growing by 379%.
