Aerologix & Soar team up to create massive digital atlas
Australian drone technology company Aerologix has announced a partnership with digital mapping platform Soar to create the world's largest digital atlas.
Aerologix and Soar aim to merge their resources, combining Aerologix's network of over 36,000 professional drone pilots with Soar's extensive map library of nearly 700,000 maps. The project seeks to provide a unified platform that integrates high-quality drone imagery, satellite data, and maps, accessible to a wide range of industries globally.
"This partnership is a game-changer for the drone industry and mapping technology," stated Aerologix Co-founder and CEO Tom Caska. "By combining our extensive network of professional drone pilots with Soar's powerful distribution platform, we're creating unprecedented access to aerial imagery while opening new revenue streams for our pilot community. Together, we're creating the new atlas of the world."
The collaboration promises to deliver four key innovations including instant access to Aerologix's comprehensive drone imagery library through Soar's platform, new distribution and revenue opportunities for professional drone pilots, streamlined discovery and licensing of aerial imagery for businesses, and seamless integration of AerologixMaps with Soar's global mapping infrastructure.
The Soar platform, designed as a free, open-access resource, invites contributions from a diverse group ranging from global organisations to local map enthusiasts. Current users include students, citizen scientists, mining firms, and major media outlets like the BBC, New York Times, and The Washington Post.
"What I love about Aerologix is that it's not just a global solution, but also one with a vast network that offers incredible scalability," expressed Soar Founder and CEO Amir Farhand. "The platform is designed for seamless interaction, and we are excited to partner and contribute to the end goal of building the world's biggest atlas."
Aerologix is expanding its global reach following its successful entry into the New Zealand market and recent developments in mapping technology. The company has also been integrated into the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) digital sky platform, enabling its Aerologix iOS and Android applications to incorporate CASA weather updates, location-based information, and regulatory maps.
The strategic partnership underscores Aerologix's commitment to growing its capabilities in the drone technology sector while providing a scalable mapping solution through Soar's established platform.
