FYI, this story is more than a year old

Gentrack has announced the launch of g2.0. This solution brings together three technology leaders, Gentrack, Salesforce and AWS, to create a modern next-generation platform to recharge, reshape and renew the industry.

Globally, utilities are facing a rise in wholesale prices, political pressures, sustainability targets and regulatory change.

Gentrack has been partnering with many of the world’s leading utilities for over 30 years. Providing meter-to-cash solutions. g2.0 combines experience with Salesforce’s CRM to offer capabilities, a rich ecosystem, and customer journeys integrated with the Gentrack core platform.

Running with composable architecture on AWS ensures high performance, security, and scalability, enabling rapid prototyping and innovation with minimal system change.

“Utilities are operating in real volatility. g2.0 offers a viable  alternative to the legacy end-to-end CRM and billing systems that dominate the global utilities market. These legacy systems are supported by too many Excel spreadsheets, manual processes and embedded running costs. The water and energy verticals face an existential need to transform as worldwide we tackle the sustainability challenge of a generation,” says Gary Miles, CEO, Gentrack.

“Leading utilities are spearheading this change and it is picking up momentum globally. g2.0 is provided by three global leaders – Salesforce, the world’s leading CRM, AWS, the number one cloud platform, and Gentrack, with over 5000 person years of utilities knowhow. g2.0 will accelerate the industry’s pace of change and allow utilities to transform with confidence.”

Gentrack, a solution provider for utilities, has partnered with Mercury to streamline its systems and provide innovative product bundles following Mercury’s acquisition of Trustpower’s retail business.

Mercury will migrate customers onto the Gentrack billing system used by Trustpower. This robust multi-play platform will support Mercury in delivering offers, bundles and unique solutions to its customers.

Gentrack minimises the complexity of migrating the Mercury customer base whilst maintaining the reliability and performance of Gentrack’s meter-to-cash solution. The transformation will include the deployment of Meter Data Services on AWS to enable half-hour time of use billing with immediate cross-selling opportunities through innovative bundled product offers.

“We partnered with Gentrack because of their successful track record supporting service flexibility and bundling for multi-play. We’re excited to work with Gentrack to  bring the Mercury and Trustpower retail businesses onto a single platform, helping us to deliver innovative and exciting products and best-in-class customer experience,” says Vince Hawksworth, Chief Executive, Mercury.

“Mercury is now New Zealand’s leading multi-product utilities retail business, bringing great product bundles to consumers and businesses across the country. Gentrack is excited to partner with Mercury as they deliver enhanced value for their customers,” says Gary Miles, Chief Executive Officer, Gentrack.
