As Microsoft begins making its move into digital farming, the tech company is inviting interested parties along to to an information night this Friday, 24 February, in Palmerston North.

Principal researcher at Microsoft Research Ranveer Chandra will head the discussion, talking about what Microsoft has discovered and what the company sees the future holding.

“Come along to the session armed with questions about how digital farming will shape the Primary Industries future and how you can get involved,” Chandra says.

The evening will also see the launch of the AgTech Hackathon, which is being run in collaboration with Microsoft, BCC, CEDA, Sprout, Massey University, Manawatu-Rangitikei Federated Farmers, Accelerate 25, Future Institutes and NZ Agrifood Investment Week.

As part of his doctoral dissertation, Ranveer developed VirtualWiFi.
